How much does Onboard cost?
Onboard.io has three plans: Starter at $25/month for individual users, Essentials at $300/month for teams, and Pro at $1,000/month for teams running onboarding at scale. All plans include unlimited customers. Annual billing saves 10%, bringing prices to $23, $270, and $900 per month respectively.
Which plan includes Salesforce and HubSpot integrations?
Native Salesforce, HubSpot, and Slack integrations are included in Essentials ($300/month) and Pro ($1,000/month). Starter does not include CRM integrations. Zapier and Workato apps are available on Essentials and above. Pro is required only for custom integrations built directly against Onboard's REST API.
Are there any add-ons or extra fees?
Two optional add-ons are available on Essentials: SSO at $50/month and custom domains at $50/month. Both are included in Pro. Custom integrations beyond Zapier and Workato are only available on Pro. There are no per-customer fees - unlimited customer seats are included on every plan.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. Try Onboard Essentials free for 30 days or try Onboard Starter for 14 days. This lets you test with real projects, not just a sandbox. No credit card required.
Do I need to sign an annual contract, or can I pay month-to-month?
You can pay month-to-month on all plans. No annual contract is required. If you'd prefer to save, we offer a 10% discount when you choose annual prepay. You can switch from monthly to annual prepay anytime.
What happens if I need more paid users?
If your team outgrows Starter (1 user) or your plan's included seats, you can add paid users anytime. Essentials includes 5 paid seats; additional seats are $54/month annually ($60 month-to-month). Pro includes 10 paid seats; additional seats are $90/month annually ($100 month-to-month).
What are the paid user roles?
Onboard.io has three paid user roles, each consuming one paid seat: Admins (full access including billing and integrations), Managers (run onboarding day-to-day, no access to company settings), and Coordinators (build templates and manage projects). Most team members are Coordinators or Managers; Admin is typically reserved for one or two leaders.
Are there free user roles?
Yes. Onboard.io includes two free internal user types: Contributors (complete and collaborate on assigned tasks) and View-Only users (access dashboards without editing). Essentials includes 5 free contributors and unlimited view-only seats; Pro includes 10 contributors and unlimited view-only. Customer seats are also unlimited and free on every plan.
Do my customers need paid accounts?
No. Your customers (onboardees) access their own portal via magic link to complete tasks and participate in onboarding without needing a paid account.
Can I switch between monthly and annual prepay?
Yes. You can switch from month-to-month to annual prepay anytime to save 10%. Changes take effect at your next billing cycle.
